Nelson Mandela est décédé. Cette nouvelle rend triste toute l’Afrique du Sud, le continent Africain, mais aussi le monde entier. « Madiba » aimait le sport. Il s’est d’ailleurs servi de la Coupe du Monde de rugby 1995 et de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations 1996, remportées par les Springboks et les Bafana Bafana, pour tenter d’unifier son pays et d’abolir l’apartheid.
En 2009, Clint Eastwood se lançait dans la production d’un biopic sur le Prix Nobel de la paix 1993. Eastwood a choisi d’axer son film sur le sport et le Mondial 1995 (voir la vidéo ci-dessous avec le poème Invictus).
